Snug Harbor Stories: A Wallace the Brave Collection! (Volume 2)
Think "Peanuts" if Charlie Brown were less of a mope or "Calvin & Hobbes" if Calvin weren't a bit of a psychopath. "Wallace The Brave" is about a family. There's Dad, a fisherman, Mom, a gardener, their almost feral young son Sterling, who never met a bug he wouldn't eat, and his older brother Wallace, a rambunctious, imaginative kid big on exploring. Mostly we see the world of the strip through Wallace's eyes, a sleepy East Coast beach town called Snug Harbor where the streets are lined with ice cream shops and the beaches are dotted with rocky tide pools ... The world of childhood depicted in the strip is a timeless, outdoorsy one reminiscent of strips like "Calvin & Hobbes" and "Cul De Sac," both of which Henry cites as influences. — NPR's Glen Weldon

The best daily comic today!
Will Henry continues to produce wonderful, beautifully drawn and constructed FUNNY comics every single day. To be this consistent on a day to day basis is a great accomplishment. Very few comic artists have been able to to do this over the years, but Will Henry is one of them, and for that I am grateful! Spent a joyous hour on the couch reading through this, laughing out loud and enjoying every panel. The loose, fun style of the art fits perfectly with the whimsical and clever humor. One of the highlights of each day for me is checking out Will's Instagram for the daily Snug Harbor event. Get this book for you AND your kids. Will is simply one of the best comic artists working today, and I don't see that ending any time soon!
A second joy ride with Wallace and friends
I was lucky enough to happen upon mention of the first Wallace the Brave collection and have waited, impatiently, for this second volume. Snug Harbor (I love that name) Stories continues with the same subtle and laugh out loud humor that made the first volume such a pleasure. Will Henry has captured the elements of childhood and made them available, once more, to adults with smiles and memories. It's been said many times but if you enjoyed Calvin and Hobbes, you should enjoy Wallace the Brave. By the way, it pays to re-read the strips. There are a lot of visual elements in the books that add to its pleasure, from the quaint houses to the reactions of the sea gulls.
A great new Strip
It has been quite awhile since an new strip has come out that I really like. Wallace the Brave is very good. The adventures of Wallace and his friends and family in what is a fishing villiage in the northeast somewhere are a joy to read. And this second collection is well worth it and I get the strips in color! Thanks. I look forward to more adventures of Wallace and Spud.
Love it!
Got this in the mail the other day, and I instantly had to sit down and read it. Every strip has so much detail that you don't just come to Wallace for the humor and commentary. It's a gorgeous book!
So great!
We (kids and I) were ecstatic to find out there was a second book! The first was so much fun, and the second keeps it going. I hope we get even more Wallace the Brave in the future! There's a real sense of nostalgia in these books for me - they capture childhood, but are funny to all age groups. Clever writing, great illustrations.
I want to live in Snug Harbor
My daughters love the adventures in Snug Harbor. There are many belly laughs in this book. I should say that both kids and the adults in my household loves this strip. Will Henry has developed a wonderful set of characters and is the strip is beaufitully drawn.
Fun read
Great, fun series. Our five year old grandson even enjoyed the characters.
Wonderful
Sung Harbor is for any comic lover. So well written and an easy read.

I didn't think that he could top his first Wallace the Brave book, but he DID!
Wallace the Brave is awesome!
This is a super funny book with delightful characters! I can't wait for the next one! Wallace, Spud, Amelia, Mom, Dad, and Sterling all have distinct personalties.
